Chateau Pichon Longueville Baron Pauillac 1995 750ml

This one’s all about finesse over flash. It's hitting a beautiful stride now—refined, elegant, and very much alive. You’ve got a lovely mix of currant, spice, and those classic Pauillac notes like cedar and a touch of coffee. The tannins have mellowed out nicely, making it smooth and graceful on the palate. Compared to the bolder '96, this vintage leans more delicate, but still with that signature backbone. It's not trying to be loud—it’s more of a quiet classic, full of charm. Totally drinkable now, and it’s not in a hurry to fade anytime soon.

A stylish, elegant, more restrained style of Pichon Baron, with less obvious new oak than usual, this deep ruby/purple-colored wine offers a pure black currant-scented nose with subtle aromas of coffee and smoky toasty oak. In the mouth, the wine displays less weight and muscle than the 1996, but it offers suave, elegant, rich fruit presented in a medium to full-bodied, surprisingly lush style. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2016.

Ripe but fresh, with cedary and flinty blackberry and plum fruit still lingering on.

Healthy crimson. There seems to be body and weight here on the nose but not that much flavour. Neat and well mannered with very resolved tannins. A very solid Pauillac if not the most soaring and inspired.
