Chateau Petit Mangot St-Emilion 2015 750ml

A real gem from a family-run estate near Saint-Émilion, the 2015 Petit Mangot is all about elegance, ripe fruit, and silky tannins. Thanks to ideal weather and a long, steady ripening season, this vintage has great balance and depth — think soft structure, juicy freshness, and a touch of richness. It’s super enjoyable now but also has the backbone to age beautifully for years. A great pick if you love approachable Bordeaux with a classic feel.

Since 1934, 4 generations have succeeded one another to exploit the lands of Petit Mangot. Originally 6 hectares of vineyards and buildings, this operation expanded to 12 hectares in 1984. Our vineyard is located in the commune of Saint Etienne de Lisse, 8 kilometers east of Saint Emilion and 45 kilometers from Bordeaux. Today, Nadia Bologna-Décamps continues this family tradition with her husband to bring a contemporary touch to this beautiful vineyard imbued with classicism and simplicity.
The 2015 vintage benefited from rare ripening conditions with ideal weather. However, at the end of July, the land was very dry, the vines were in complete water stress. The month of August, with precipitation, saved us. The vegetation has regained its rights. And September was very beautiful: we didn't have any great heat but we enjoyed lots of sunshine. During the last weeks, the nights were cool. The thermal amplitude between day and night allows the grape skins to relax and retract, and thus refine the tannins. These long periods of maturity are the secret of great vintages!!
Everything went well, from flower to harvest. We had some very nice Cabernets and Merlots. The balances between sugars and acids are very interesting.
The reds have very silky, crunchy tannins with lots of fruit and elegance, density and a beautiful length and roundness in line with the great vintages, such as 2005, 2009 or 2010.
It will be enjoyed with pleasure in young years and has very long aging potential.
