Chateau Leoville Barton St-Julien 2012 750ml

The 2012 Château Léoville Barton, a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, is a full-bodied, rich wine with dense aromas of cassis, licorice, and forest floor. The wine is well-balanced with fine tannins and a crisp finish. While it is enjoyable now, it requires a few years of aging to reach its full potential. Expect it to evolve gracefully for 25-30 years.

Dense ruby/purple, with cassis licorice and forest floors notes in the aromatics, Leoville-Barton's 2012 is a relatively big, rich, masculine style of wine. This full-bodied wine needs 5-8 years of cellaring and should evolve easily for 25-30 years.

Stylish, sweet, fresh-tasting. Midweight but well balanced and a good result in this vintage. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Floral and fruity red with hints of vanilla. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a crisp finish. Loosely knit. This needs three or four years to come together. Better after 2018.

Garnet. More guts and less charm than the Langoa 2012. Very dry, uncompromising finish for the moment. Wait!

Tasting
Lovely flowery bouquet with notes of acacia. The palate is well balanced with no harsh tannins indicating quite early maturity.
