This is finally coming out of its shell after its sulky childhood. A standout Saint Emilion for the vintage. The nose is reticent at first, slightly earthy with raspberry, red cherry, bilberry all entwined with very well integrated new oak. The palate is full-bodied but with very fine, bold tannins, good definition and acidity, very focused on the finish. Just a real crescendo on the palate. Great winemaking and finally coming into its own. Drink 2012-2020. Tasted November 2006.
