The 2014 Feytit Clinet has a crisp bouquet with violet-tinged black fruit, understated and very precise (a leitmotif of Jeremy Chasseuil's wine). The palate is clean and precise, very well defined with a mineral-infused finish that lingers long in the mouth. There is nothing ostentatious about this wine, rather it is all about composure, refinement and precision. It can be summed up in two words: Bon vin!

Quite a discrete, old-fashioned wine for Pomerol with a very nice balance and some real depth. For traditionalists this a good choice at the lower end of the price range for this appellation. Beauty.

Mid crimson. Scented and intense high-toned nose with some savour and raciness. Acidity is fairly pronounced but it has guts and persistence.
Winemaker
2014 is one of our favourite Pomerols this year, based on both its apparent value for money and its plush creamy style which is extracted but not overblown. Congratulations to Jeremy Chasseuil for making a potential right-bank treasure.
Feytit-Clinet is a well-regarded name in Pomerol, making vibrant, poised Bordeaux which impresses more with each passing vintage. Proprietor Jeremy Chasseuil has been at the helm since 2000, when he took over the estate from Moueix. J.P.Moueix had been tending the vines as part of a lease arrangement, or métayage, since 1966, and the estate had been held in two parts. Jeremy’s father, Michel-Jack managed to buy half the property and Jeremy managed to acquire the remaining half in 2000. He now manages 6.5 hectares of clay rich soils, which suits the predominant Merlot and around 10% Cabernet Franc. Prices remain relatively modest, but with quality rising every year, they are unlikely to stay low for long.
