The 2016 Les Laurets Baron is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and opens with wonderfully spicy scents of cloves, fenugreek, cinnamon stick and black pepper over a core of black cherries and warm plums plus a touch of spearmint. Medium to full-bodied and opulent, with loads of exotic spice-laced plum flavors, it has a plush frame and minty finish.

Chateau des Laurets Baron cultivates a selection of plots, harvested and sorted by hand, to produce a blend with all the care that goes into the finest wines. After acquiring Chateau des Laurets in 2003, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild wanted to highlight the unique character of this estate by producing a limited vintage from a selection of the best Merlot plots.

A niche wine, produced only in the best years, Chateau des Laurets Baron bears the mark of the great Saint-Emilion wines, predominantly Merlot.
