Barons de Rothschild Champagne Rare Collection Blanc de Blancs 2013 750ml
The Wine Advocate | RP 95
Published: Nov 16, 2023
This 2013 Rare Collection Blanc de Blancs is crafted with grapes sourced from four villages: Avize, Cramant, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Disgorged as an extra brut with five grams of dosage, it reveals a delicate, complex bouquet with aromas of apricot, fresh bread, pastry, almonds, smoke and dried apricot. Medium to full-bodied, it's fleshy and vinous, with a broad attack that segues into a deep core of fruit. It concludes with a chalky, mineral finish. Drink Date: 2023 - 2043

The quintessence of the Barons de Rothschild style. The tiny production receives the same meticulous care as that lavished on the Rothschild Family’s most prestigious Grands Vins
Eyes
Pale gold colour with crystalline highlights.
Nose
Freshness and minerality typical of our great Chardonnays from this cold vintage. With finesse, the fresh citrus fruit responds to hints of dried apricot and brioche, lightly toasted aromas. The precise, chiselled finish is accompanied by more saline and iodised notes.
Palate
The clean, mineral attack reveals all the brilliance of this vintage, whose lemony, zesty character underpins an infinite length on the palate. Spicy accents of white pepper and saffron give way to a more saline finish, so characteristic of Rothschild Rare Collection vintages.
