Chateau La Creation Pomerol 2014 750ml

Château La Création 2014 is a charming wine from a small estate owned by Yseult de Gaye and Jean-Antoine Nony. Known for its attractive blackberry and wild strawberry aromas, the wine is complemented by subtle hints of incense. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, offering a linear and compact structure. The finish showcases impressive detail and mineralité, highlighting the wine’s finesse. Though enjoyable now, it will benefit from a couple of years of aging, continuing to evolve over the next decade. This wine delivers both elegance and depth, making it a delightful experience for those who appreciate precision.

The 2014 La Creation is the tiny property owned and run by Yseult de Gaye, married to Jean-Antoine Nony of Grand-Mayne and whose family owns Château Grand Corbin Manuel in Saint Emilion. The 4.6-hectare estate was known as La Tour Robert until 2012 when the de Gayes acquired the estate. It offers attractive blackberry, wild strawberry and incense aromas on the nose, generous yet maintaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, quite linear and compact at the moment, and yet the detail and mineralité is very commendable, especially on the nuanced finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and then consume over the next decade or so. This is delightful.
