Chateau Gazin Pomerol 2004 750ml
The Wine Advocate | RP 90
Published: Jun 29, 2007
A big time sleeper of the vintage, the 2004 Gazin exhibits aromas of cedar wood, plum pudding, sweet cherries, figs, and black currants. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and elegant with substantial depth as well as terrific aging potential, it should be at its peak between 2009-2022.

1999 produced 79,962 bottles of wine made with 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.
Neglected for a long time due to interest for 2000, 1999 is now revealing itself to be an excellent vintage for Gazin.
The wine's colour is still intense with dark hints of ink. The nose offers fine notes of red and black fruit, with blackberries, Morello cherries, blackcurrants, and stone fruit, supplemented by aroma of undergrowth, leather, fur and truffles, with hints of spices (cinnamon).
On the palate, the structure is both fresh and complex. The tannins are well-integrated and harmonious, producing a superb silky finish. However, this wine should always be decanted two or three hours before drinking at ambient temperature. It should be drunk, in 2014, over the next ten years.
