Two Hands Holy Grail Single Vineyard Shiraz 2020 750ml

The fruit for the 2020 Holy Grail Seppeltsfield Road Seppeltsfield Shiraz is, of course, from the Seppeltsfield Road Vineyard in the Barossa Valley. It is decidedly red-fruited, with raspberry, pomegranate molasses, pink peppercorns, damsons and blood plums. The tannins are smashed into the fruit; they're fine and chalky but certainly present, and they serve to cup the fruit, rather than obstruct it. It's a very pretty wine, which is a surprise given the packaging (weight when full over two kilograms) and fruit-sourcing area. Nicely done.

The pinnacle of our wine production, the Holy Grail is our newest estate vineyard situated amongst the Avenue of Hopes & Dreams in the sub-region of Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley. Our latest and most exciting release, the Holy Grail Shiraz is an intensely aromatic wine with an elegance and length on the palate that is truly captivating.
Colour: Deep dark crimson red.
Aroma: Notes of dark berry reduction, spice box, pipe smoke, dried peppercorn, dark chocolate and scorched earth.
Palate: Hits the palate with energy and verve. A rich berry profile is prominent but is somewhat tightly coiled and reserved. The tannin and acidity work in unison with the tannins prominent but never aggressive. An incredibly long finish is complimented with hints of smoke, dried lavender, pepper and scorched earth. Backwards and tight at times but hints for a very good future after time in the cellar.
